It certainly was for my vendor. Following several annual visits to New Zealand from the UK they finally decided in 2002 to make our subtropical climate in the Bay of Islands their home.
When they discovered this "boutique" home and income opportunity, just a stones throw from the beach, easy walk along the waterfront to the Paihia village, sea views from the deck of the spacious owner's accommodation, PLUS three easily managed, well appointed and maintained units, flexibility to close during winter (while they planned their own escapes) and satisfying immigration, from a business visa point of view, all the boxes were ticked.
Perhaps this sounds like you?
If so then you should place some urgency on the need to inspect.
